Every woman is not a runway model and nor should she be.....Tracy Reese
In design school they taught us to make a size 2, and that's the only type of fit models we used. Women that were a size 2 that didn't look like myself, my friends or my family and this is what my grading standard was based on. Along with being the only black girl in my classes. At times I was discouraged and questioned if this was something I really wanted. I said YES! And no instructor could ever make me conform to the type of student they wanted me to be! I always did my own thing despite knowing It would effect my grade. I always stayed true to myself and have embraced my blackness in my fashion shows, my models, and my design decisions. What I bring to the Fashion Industry MATTERS to me and my supporters! I'm not here for those that are not here for Calleea Vatein #mondaymotivation #blackdesigners #staytrue #neverconform
